Joseph (J.B.) Treuting is focused primarily on the practice of personal injury law, with a concentration on insurance, uninsured motorists and Workers’ Compensation.
He was admitted to the Louisiana Bar in 1985 and also admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit; and the U.S. District Court, Eastern, Western and Middle Districts of Louisiana.
J.B. received a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University in 1981. He earned his law degree (Juris Doctor) from Tulane University in 1985 and attended the Legal Clinic at Tulane Law School from 1984 – 1985.
He also served as Law Clerk to the Honorable P.J. Laborde, Louisiana Third Circuit Court of Appeal from 1985 – 1988. J.B. is a member of the Avoyelles Parish Bar Association, Louisiana State Bar Association and American Bar Association. He is also a member of the Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association and the Crossroads Inns of Court Executive Committee.
J.B. was born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1958. He serves as Chairman of the Board for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Avoyelles and is also involved in the CENLA Food Bank. In addition, he is active in the CENLA ACTS progress. J.B. and his wife, Mary, are the parents of three sons. Mary holds a PhD and is a Professor of Psychology at Louisiana State University – Alexandria.
